New Born Intensive Care

Koru Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit serves babies who need intensive care. Our unit provides 24-hour service with its healthcare staff strong in the neonatal field, specially trained nurses, technical equipment and wide space and provides the necessary facilities for informing and educating families. Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, with its 16 beds, is the largest intensive care unit with advanced facilities that provides tertiary intensive care services in Ankara.
Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit provides advanced care for babies 
-    who are premature (preterm) from the 24th gestational week,
-    who need mechanical respiratory support,
-    with low birth weight,
-    born as a result of multiple pregnancy,
-    with low or high birth weight according to the week of gestation,
-    with high risk of organ damage resulting from difficult delivery, babies with neonatal jaundice and infection
Our unit provides health services to babies born in our hospital as well as newborns born in external centers and in need of intensive care. For this purpose, services are provided in cooperation with air and land ambulance systems.
In the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit; mechanical respiratory support, blood exchange, phototherapy (light therapy), percutaneous catheter applications, total parenteral nutrition (intravenous feeding) applications, thoracic tube insertion (lung air leak treatment), invasive blood pressure monitoring (blood pressure measurement from umbilical vein without touching) , bedside ECHO (electrocardiography), bedside USG (ultrasound to evaluate the brain and other internal organs), retinopathy examination (eye examinations of preterm babies) are also performed.
In our unit, hospital infection the rate is very low thanks to the control methods applied at the entrances and exits, prevention of patient admission over capacity, application of patient-oriented primary nursing care, effective operation of the infection control committee, effective use of the isolation unit, hand washing, sterilization of the instruments, use of disposable materials and taking special precautions in terms of the health of the employees.
