What Is A Non-Stress Test? How To Do It?

A non stress test is an ultrasound exam used to check on the baby’s heart rate and movement during pregnancy.

During a non stress test, the doctor will use sound waves to create images of the baby’s heartbeat and movements. The results of this test can help determine whether there are any problems with the baby’s development.

This test is done at around 20 weeks gestation

If you are pregnant, you should schedule a visit with your doctor as soon as possible after you find out you are expecting. You will need to make sure that you are healthy enough to undergo the procedure. You also need to make sure that your doctor has the proper equipment to perform the test.

The first thing you need to know about this test is that it is painless.

During the test, the doctor will use a wand to move back and forth across your abdomen. This will cause the sound waves to bounce off the walls of your uterus and travel through your body. The doctor will then measure how fast these waves travel. This measurement will give them an idea of how fast your baby’s heart beats.

You will have to lie down on a table with your feet up

If you are pregnant, you should not drink alcohol or take any medications before the test. You should also avoid caffeine and nicotine. Make sure you eat something light before the test.

The technician will put gel on your belly and then place the probe on your stomach.

Once the probe is in position, the technician will press down gently with her hand to make sure the probe stays in place. She will then move the probe back and forth across your abdomen to find the baby’s heartbeat.

He or she will move the probe over your abdomen until he or she finds the baby's heartbeat.

If you're pregnant, you should schedule a non-stress test as soon as possible after you've missed your period. This test is done at least once every four weeks until you give birth. You'll also need to do one before each prenatal visit.
