Symptoms of Sinusitis in Kids
In children, sinus infections often cause fever, cough, and fatigue.
Sinusitis is an inflammation of the nasal passages that causes symptoms similar to those of colds and flu. It usually occurs when bacteria enter through the nose and travel into the sinuses.
But they may also lead to more serious complications such as ear infection or pneumonia.
A common symptom of sinusitis in kids is a runny nose. Other signs include sneezing, coughing, and congestion. Fever is another sign of sinusitis in children. If your child has these symptoms, call your doctor right away.
Fever
There are other symptoms of sinusitis in young people that parents need to watch out for. These include pain behind the eyes, headaches, earaches, and swollen glands.
Cough
If your child has been coughing up blood, call your doctor immediately. This could indicate an infection in the lungs or throat.
Fatigue
A common symptom of sinusitis in kids is a runny nose. Other symptoms include headache, fever, fatigue, cough, sneezing, sore throat, and vomiting.
Headache
If your child has any of these symptoms, call your doctor right away. It’s also important to make sure your child gets plenty of rest, drinks lots of fluids, and avoids strenuous activity.
